I was expecting a popcorn with a distinct taste. Can’t say that happened. The kernels are also light so they don’t work well in a hot air popper but I do what some of the people suggested and tilt the popper until the kernels start popping. Compared it to cheap Walmart popcorn. Walmart popcorn had heavier kernels which worked well in the popper and I think the popped kernels were larger and I can’t say that I found much if any difference in taste. For the cost, I think I will just buy Walmart cheapo popcorn in the future. Maybe my taste buds aren’t as sophisticated as some.

I’ve been trying to find fluffy, crisp popcorn that doesn’t have too much hull. I use a kettle movie-theater style 4 oz popper with coconut oil. Tried the variety sampler packs, and couldn’t really find what I was looking for. The Savannah gold was too chewy and had a ton of hulls, more than Orville I think.

The only one that I really got addicted with is the Black Hills. It produced medium-sized, crunchy, flavorful, almost nutty popcorn. I couldn’t put the stuff down. Its not your typical movie-theater style though. Decided to get more through the 6 bottle case. The Baby Yellow is nice, fluffy, no hulls, but more like popcorn bits and pieces. Its perfect for those with diverticulitis or colon problems.

For movie-theater style popcorn, I’ve liked the Kroger’s (grocery chain) brand yellow kernel popcorn best. It has less hulls, and pops crispier than Orville. Sometimes cheapest is best!

This corn is very good. All the kernels seem to pop and has a very good flavor. Not like other brands..

Whether one pops it in olive oil, air popper, butter or whatever else this popcorn tastes good. As per advertised the husks were almost non-existant or so tender they don’t break your teeth. Good product.
